Luminary Brewing is my brother's brewery in the making. Landon is currently home brewing in Atlanta. He is experimenting, developing recipes, and building equipment. After sharing his beer with friends and receiving rave reviews, he decided to submit the beer to competitions. I took on the role of designer and created an identity for the company.
The name came about for a couple of reasons; "The Luminary" was the first newspaper published in Atlanta, GA and Landon is a lighting engineer. As a result, he decided a 19th century street lamp would be the identifying graphic. Visual cues from newspapers of the time influenced the identity. The challenge is referencing the 1800's time period while retaining a modern edge.
Forty Weight is a coffee stout, the first staple brew. More to come... stay tuned! To learn more about the brewery, check out luminarybrewing.com
